A explosion took place Wednesday at the “Antonio Dovaí Jaime” Pétroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) refinery in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.
Refinery manager Rogelio Ríos Benítez said that the cause of the explosion was an oil spill from one of the containers.
Pemex posted on Twitter that emergency services are fighting the fire, which remains a priority. The company also tweeted that there were nine people injured, eight of which had already been released from medical care.
No deaths have been reported.
