In the framework of the XIII meeting of the Pacific Alliance that took place in Puerto Vallarta, President Peña Nieto stressed that the objective with the Common Market of the South (Mercosur) is to strengthen the linkage of the two commercial blocks that is more important in Latin America, since, together, they account for 79% of the region's population, 85% of gross domestic product, 86% of exports and 88% of foreign investment. That is why the importance of approving a joint declaration in which they endorsed the commitment of a free trade that favors social inclusion. They also endorsed the Puerto Vallarta Action Plan, which establishes concrete measures to facilitate the trade of goods, boost the internationalization of small and medium enterprises, promote the knowledge economy and generate more benefits in terms of gender in academic mobility, tourism and culture. In this way Puerto Vallarta was the host of this important summit meeting, with projection to 55 countries of the world and at the same time as a safe city in Mexico and the world. The security of the six heads of state who arrived in Puerto Vallarta to participate in the XIII Alianza del Pacifico Summit was in charge of the Presidential staff. Dozens of elements of the army, Federal Police and Jalisco Single Force, were in charge of maintaining the safety of the presidents at all times, from their arrival at the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta, where, the presidential aircraft of these presidents were appreciated, until their arrival at the Convention Center, which remained with an operation in constant patrols and overflights of helicopters of the Navy and Federal Police. In Paseo de la Flores avenue that connects to the Convention Center, vehicles and pedestrians that were not duly accredited to the event were not allowed.
