The number of deceased could increased after the rescue corpus
At least eight people were killed and 15 injured in a collision this Sunday between a tourist bus carrying people from several countries and a dump truck involved in the construction of the Tren Maya, in the southeast of Mexico, state authorities reported. Due to the seriousness of the accident, the number of deceased could increase after the rescue corps indicated that there are several bodies trapped in the bus. A first official report indicated that four people were taken to the General Hospital of Cancun, of which three adults will be transferred to the Playamed private hospital. Of the four patients, two are from France, among them a 4 year old minor with a forehead injury; one from Germany and a Mexican woman.
Meanwhile, the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen received four people, three Mexicans and one from Pakistan, the latter with lumbar trauma. In all cases the people were admitted conscious, but with multiple bruises. The accident occurred this day around 11:00 local time on the highway that connects the beach resort of Cancun with the city of Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan. According to preliminary data, the bus was carrying 40 passengers, including foreign tourists from Canada, France, Pakistan and some Mexicans. The collision occurred at kilometer 242 of the toll highway, almost an hour after the bus had left Cancun for Merida. Emergency teams and police officers from nearby municipalities arrived at the scene to carry out rescue work and attend to the injured.
