The author was none other than prestigious journalist Gay Nagle Myers, who has left her mark in the tourism industry and who based her article on the opinions of travel agencies and tour operators.
Top tourism publications publish their recommendations and classifications for the upcoming year every January. Travel Weekly, one of the leading indicators of tourism trends, included the Riviera Nayarit in its “Preview 2015: Destinations” segment.
This is just one of the end results of the different international press trips sponsored by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) during 2014; Gay Nagle Myers, recognized journalist and author of the article, participated in one of those visits.
The Riviera Nayarit was also singled out when both travel agencies and tour operators agreed that it is one of the top four must-see destinations of the year, which highlighted its importance.
“Mexico's Riviera Nayarit, which cannot seem do anything wrong. It's being billed as Mexico's new holiday destination on the Pacific coast, attracting well-heeled stars, socialites and plenty of positive social media,” wrote Myers as one of her bullet points.
From Mexico only Cancun and the Riviera Maya were included in the article as traditional mainstays, with the Riviera Nayarit mentioned as the newest place to visit. The prestige that this represents for the destination is huge, as the recommendations included destinations from around the world.
Travel Weekly has an audience of 37 thousand readers for its print edition, with another 79,800 readers of its digital releases as well as 407,335 unique monthly visitors to its website, resulting in 1.6 million monthly page views.
