LornaLuftColor1(PUERTO VALLARTA) Residents and visitors to Puerto Vallarta will find themselves over the rainbow in mid-March, when Hollywood royalty arrives for a series of very special engagements at the Stages center in the Zona Romantica.

Born to legendary entertainer Judy Garland and producer Sid Luft, Lorna Luft’s acclaimed career has encompassed virtually every arena of entertainment. A celebrated live performer, stage, film and television actress, best-selling author, recording artist and Emmy nominated producer – Lorna Luft continues to triumph in every medium with critics labelling her one of the most vibrant, versatile and exciting artists on stage today.

An Evening with Lorna Luft includes the talented Ms. Luft performing a number of selections from the Judy Garland songbook, in addition to sharing intimate reflections from her legendary family, including her mother Judy Garland and her sister Liza Minnelli. Opening for Ms. Luft will be special guests that may vary night to night, including Kim Kuzma. An Evening with Lorna Luft plays nightly at 8:00 pm from Thursday, March 12th through Saturday, March 15th, at the Main Stage located inside the Stages entertainment center at the corner of Basilio Badillo and Insurgents on Puerto Vallarta's south side.

At age 11, Lorna Luft made her television debut singing on her mother’s series, The Judy Garland Show. Since then, Lorna has had starring roles in both television and film.

International film and television credits range from the movie Grease 2 (alongside Michelle Pfeiffer) and Where the Boys Are ’84 to roles on Trapper John, M.D and Murder She Wrote.

Lorna Luft is the co-executive producer of Life with Judy Garland, the 5-time Emmy award-winning miniseries based on her best-selling memoir Me and My Shadows.

Lorna is no stranger to the stage and has enjoyed numerous successes across the globe, including Broadway and the West End. She starred in the 2006 blockbuster UK premiere production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas: The Musical. She quickly followed that success with the 2007 hit revival of Rodgers and Hart’s Babes in Arms at the prestigious Chichester Festival Theatre. Lorna reprised her role in White Christmas: The Musical for the 2007 and 2009 winter seasons and most recently in 2011 at the Papermill Playhouse. Lorna’s theatrical credits include: Promises, Promises; Snoopy; Extremities (with Farrah Fawcett); Songs My Mother Taught Me; They’re Playing Our Song; Guys and Dolls; Grease; Mame; The Unsinkable Molly Brown; Little Shop of Horrors; Girl Crazy; Gypsy; The Magical World Of Musicals; White Christmas; Babes in Arms; Wizard of Oz and Pack of Lies.

Concurrent with her theatrical career, Lorna Luft is a gifted live performer frequently featured as a concert artist at the world’s most prestigious venues including: The Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, The London Palladium, and L’Olympia in Paris.

One of her most ambitious projects to date is the highly acclaimed multi-media production Songs My Mother Taught Me—The Judy Garland Songbook. This theatrical extravaganza melds one of the world‘s most familiar songbooks with personal memories of a loving daughter. Songs My Mother Taught Me, which Variety called “a rousing, dramatically riveting musical event,” was awarded two Los Angeles Theatre Alliance Ovation Awards (Best World Premiere Musical & Best Musical Direction). The Los Angeles Times called her performance “heart-stopping and thrilling… an incandescent revelation not to be missed.” A CD based on the concert, produced by Barry Manilow and Colin R. Freeman, was released on October 22, 2007 from First Night Records.

From her early work with her mother to spectacular concert performances, acclaim on Broadway, and in television, Lorna Luft proves again and again that she’s a stellar entertainer and humanitarian, proudly carrying the torch of her family’s legendary show business legacy.
