Puerto Vallarta Jalisco, Mexico.- "Carnival Cruise Line, our longstanding cruise partner, has continued to show their confidence and commitment in the Tampa Bay market and Port Tampa Bay".
Carnival Miracle cruises from Tampa will begin their year-round schedule on January 27, 2018.
Carnival Cruise Line held an overnight gala event today in NY featuring a concert for Operation Homefront military families by the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year and seven-time GRAMMY award-winning country music super star Carrie Underwood.
The week-long voyages will depart from Port Tampa Bay on the weekend and feature four, popular Caribbean ports of calls, including George Town, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; Mahogany, Isla Roatan; and Belize City, Belize.
Visit Tampa Bay's Patrick Harrison says the addition of a second ship is a huge bonus for local tourism and could usher in more than a million passengers per year through the terminal.
The 2,124-passenger Miracle will join the Carnival Paradise in Tampa and will do extended stays in Cozumel, along with a broader array of excursions there. The ship will offer three different itineraries from Long Beach including overnights in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta.
Carnival said the Splendor will also sail two 14-night roundtrip Hawaii cruises in 2018 from Long Beach. The two ships will offer the widest variety of four-, five- and seven-day itineraries from Tampa and carry 320,000 guests annually. The cruise will visit Cartagena prior to the Panama Canal transit, then call at Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The ship will also embark on an eight-day Panama Canal cruise roundtrip from Tampa from 14-22 April 2018, which features tops at Limon in Costa Rica, a partial transit of the Panama Canal, then a call at Grand Cayman.
Carnival Splendor will also operate two 14-day Hawaii cruises roundtrip from Long Beach - one departing 13 October 2018 and the other on 1 December 201
