ACI recognizes Puerto Vallarta airport as the best in maintaining hygiene measures in the face of a pandemic

Airports Council International (ACI) recognized Puerto Vallarta International Airport as the best in hygiene measures in Latin America and the Caribbean. The distinction obtained by the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Airport is generated through 370 thousand surveys carried out by ACI to passengers from different airports, with the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program. Starting in 2020, new questions related to health and hygiene were added to the questionnaire, these allow airports to better understand the response of users to the new health measures related to COVID-19 and the corresponding award category recognizes airports that have successfully responded in the eyes of travelers. "After a second pandemic year, this year's ASQ award winners especially reflect leadership in customer experience during the most challenging time in our industry's history," said ACI CEO Luis Felipe de Oliveira.

"We are extremely proud of their stellar leadership in delivering the best customer experience," he added. GAP CEO Raul Revuelta Musalem said, "This award is of enormous value to the Group, as it is the passenger who recognizes the great work the airport does to maintain healthy spaces and implement professional biosecurity protocols. This recognition demonstrates that Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) and, specifically, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, are committed to maintain and improve their sanitary standards to safeguard the public health of all passengers, companions, collaborators and the airport community; providing confidence with priority to health and safety in a measurable, coordinated and continuous manner. In accordance with the above, all GAP Airports are Safe Travels certified by the World Travel Council, and GAP was the first airport group in the world to obtain the Airport Health Accreditation Programme (AHA) certification and recertification granted by ACI, an institution with presence in 185 countries, with around 2,000 member airports.
