The River That Wants to Sound.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
On March 22, 2025, in a paradise where the jungle meets the sea, the Boca de Tomatlán boardwalk will be dressed up for the Third Los Horcones Music Festival 2025, a cultural and ecological event that promises to be unforgettable. From 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m., visitors and locals will have the opportunity to celebrate the region's natural wealth and support a noble conservation effort.
This festival is much more than a musical gathering. It is a vibrant manifestation of love and respect for the Los Horcones River, one of the last free and living rivers in the Puerto Vallarta and Cabo Corrientes region, Jalisco. Its flow not only nourishes the biodiversity of the surrounding rainforest but is also the beating heart of several local communities that depend on its purity and abundance.
An Invitation to the Foreign Community
For those who have made Puerto Vallarta their second home or are visiting in search of authentic experiences, this is a unique opportunity to join an important cause. The Third Los Horcones Music Festival invites the foreign community to connect with nature, learn more about conservation efforts, and take an active part in protecting this natural treasure.
Music, Culture, and Ecological Awareness
The event will feature live bands offering a fusion of Latin rhythms, reggae, world music, and Mexican folklore. Music will be the guiding thread of a day full of good energy and community spirit.
In addition, there will be educational workshops explaining the importance of the river and its ecosystem, activities for children, as well as raffles and prizes for those who participate in the activities and support conservation projects.
Of course, there will be a delicious gastronomic offering with traditional Mexican food, vegan options, and typical desserts, perfect for those who want to savor the best of local cuisine.
A River That Keeps Talking
This year's theme is "The River That Wants to Sound," because the Los Horcones River continues to send a clear message: its life depends on us. Thanks to the joint efforts of environmental organizations, local residents, and conscious visitors, it has been kept free of dams and industrial exploitation.
However, the fight for its preservation continues. The international community's attendance at this festival not only represents moral support but also contributes to educational and ecological restoration projects. It is an opportunity to give back to the land that so many have chosen as a refuge and place of inspiration.
How to Get There and What to Bring
The Boca de Tomatlán boardwalk is located just 30 minutes south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, on the road to Mismaloya and Los Arcos de Vallarta. You can get there by bus, taxi, Uber, or even by taxi boat from the Los Muertos pier.
We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a desire to enjoy! You can also bring your own reusable water bottle, as the event is plastic-free.
A festival with a cause
The Third Los Horcones Music Festival 2025 is a call to live a connection with nature in a respectful and conscious way. It is a celebration of life, music, and the culture that unites us, regardless of where we come from. Admission is free and open to the public, although voluntary donations will go directly to river conservation and environmental education projects.
This is an event that invites everyone, locals and foreigners, to leave their mark... but only in the heart of the river.
