airbnbfrontThe Airbnb platform extended its disaster response program until October 31, with the objective of providing a place to stay free of charge for those affected by the earthquakes of September 7 and 19.

In a statement, the platform to host travelers in their own space indicated that through this program, which is called Open Homes, hosts can offer their spaces and properties for free to all who need it in this emergency.

Airbnb eliminated all its commissions so that brigades, volunteers and displaced neighbors find places to stay when they need it the most, where the hosts list their spaces and decide how long they want to make them available.

In addition, as of yesterday the states of Puebla and Morelos join Open Homes, entities that were strongly affected by the earthquake of September 19, and where the hosts can now offer free accommodation to displaced people, volunteers and brigades.

Thus, virtually anyone can register their home and spaces available on Airbnb, to join this emergency response program.
