Jalisco will host this important event
The Ministry of Tourism of Jalisco, the Puerto Vallarta Trust and OSM (organizer of the event) announced that, thanks to the joint work, Jalisco will host the most important hiking circuit at an international level, with the
Puerto Vallarta Mexico by UTMB®.
This event will take place from October 28th to 30th and will take place in a large part of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the municipalities of Mascota, San Sebastián del Oeste and Puerto Vallarta, which will attract international projection to these tourist destinations. And where it is expected to have an economic revenue for the State of 45 million pesos.
The event will be attended by 2,500 international and national athletes, of which 30% are foreigners and 70% Mexicans, who will be able to enjoy the landscapes, gastronomy and culture of each of the routes.
"We welcome 2,500 runners from more than 32 countries, who will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the roots of the Mexican and Wixárika historical heritage," explained Alejandro Ochoa Reyes, director of Puerto Vallarta Mexico by UTMB®.

On his part, Luis Villaseñor, general director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Publicity of Puerto Vallarta, explained that: "It is very exciting that Puerto Vallarta is hosting this world-class sporting event, since we are the only destination in Latin America where it will take place; bringing together the most outstanding runners from different parts of the world".
"This event will undoubtedly offer excellent benefits to the entire tourist industry of the city and will provide an exceptional image of the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific thanks to the natural beauties that all participants will be able to get to know and that can only be enjoyed in this beautiful port", he added.
THE AGENDA
A press conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 27th at 5:00 p.m. and the presentation of the elite runners at 6:00 p.m., both at the Malecon of Puerto Vallarta. The start of the 100 miles will take place on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. at the main square of San Sebastian del Oeste.
On Saturday, October 29, the start of the 50k is scheduled for 6:00 a.m. and the 100k at 8:00 a.m., both at the Malecon of Puerto Vallarta. On October 30, the 20k race will start at 7:00 am and the 10k at 9:00 am. The awards ceremony for all categories will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Malecon of Puerto Vallarta.

The elite of Mexican mountain runners headed by Juan Belman, Mauricio Martinez and Jou Valenzuela will attend the first edition of Puerto Vallarta Mexico by UTMB®.
The runners will arrive in Puerto Vallarta to compete in some of its 5 distances: Pata Salada 10K, Ereno 20K, Nakawe 50K, Hikuri 100K and Wixárika: the 100 mile route.
The UTMB® World Series is the world's most iconic trail running circuit and offers all runners the chance to experience the UTMB® adventure around the world, with 25 events taking place in Oceania, Europe and the Americas in 2022. It is the only place where runners can start their challenge towards the UTMB Mont-Blanc, where the prestigious finale of the UTMB World Series will be held.
