Ukraine to receive this additional grant in the face of Russian invasion
The United States will grant an additional $725 million in military aid to Ukraine to defend against the Russian invasion, the Pentagon and the State Department announced Friday.
"This will bring total U.S. military aid to Ukraine to an unprecedented level of more than $18.3 billion" since Joe Biden took office, U.S. diplomatic chief Antony Blinken said in a statement.
The Pentagon specified that the new batch pledged by Washington contains, among other things, Himars ammunition, a rocket launcher mounted on lightly armored vehicles which play an important role in the Ukrainian counter-offensives in the east and south of the country.
As well as more than 23,000 artillery shells, five thousand remotely operated anti-vehicle armored mines, five thousand anti-tank weapons and 200 Humvee transport vehicles.
Biden promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski on Monday to "continue to deliver to Ukraine what it needs to defend itself, including upgraded" air defense systems.
The United States promised, for example, improved surface-to-air missile batteries.
It is worth mentioning that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has lasted longer than one might think, and the agreements and treaties have not yet come to an end, it is not yet known when it will end.
It is expected that this new package of armored vehicles and armaments will be used to defend against the invasion of Ukraine, which is currently being carried out by Russia.
