Tourist arrivals will be on the rise
The tourist destination has been on an uninterrupted recovery path, which is why it will surpass the figures before the pandemic.
The general director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Publicity of Puerto Vallarta, Luis Antonio Villaseñor Nolasco, explained that the growth has been measured through different indexes, that is, considering the arrival of air passengers and, of course, hotel occupancy and lodging in general.
"We have been reflecting all this in the different periods of tourist flows and even those considered low season, which in reality have not been so because the promotion actions have borne fruit so as not to have drastic drops".
He emphasized that in fact, just last long weekend, the "revolutionary long weekend", there were excellent results since Puerto Vallarta was the leader in occupancy among beach destinations with an average of 95%, likewise more than 329 operations were registered during the weekend.
"This comes as a prelude to what will be the fall-winter season, with the arrival of the long weekend in the United States such as Thanksgiving Day, in which everything looks like we will be above 90 percent and that will allow us to reach several objectives we have set for ourselves".
Regarding hotel occupancy he informed that one of those objectives is to surpass 75% of average annual occupancy, to leave behind the 71% we had in 2019 (pre-pandemic) and he emphasized that this is even more relevant if we take into account that the hotel offer in Puerto Vallarta has increased.
Hundreds of North Americans celebrated Thanksgiving here, which favored the tourist destination.
