Under the coordination of the Eighth Naval District, yesterday, (Tuesday) held a mock response to oil spill in the bay, in exercise involving the City Attorney, Juan Hernandez with the representation of Mayor Ramon Guerrero and authorities of different levels of government, parastatals and the private initiative of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay.

After registering the alleged incident, which causes a diesel slick 50 meters long by 10 wide approximately, launched the local contingency plan, which allows to respond to pollution incidents, to control and combat operations, thus which gave way to the deployment of 200 meters barrier to enclose the oil and prevent further spread of the slick at sea. The barrier consists of a buoyant material with a height of 30 centimeters and a skirt (bottom) 15 that allows to delimit the acne prone areas subsequently supported by a pump and a tank, to start collecting the fuel, thus allowing cleaning zone.

As part of this exercise, also addressed regarding the organization and operation of the Incident Command System, composed in this case by a unified and Operations groups, logistics, planning of finance.
