Teotihuacán and Monte Alban are part of the 31 cultural sites inscribed on the World Heritage List of the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to locate to Mexico in the sixth place in the world and first in Latin America and the Caribbean

Well, Mexico takes the leadership in the area as well as the country with the greatest cultural property within this list and is endorsed with the inclusion of the last December 4, in Paris, France, from the Center for Indigenous Arts of Veracruz in the record of the Best Practices for the Safeguarding of the Heritage Intangible Cultural, commented in a statement the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH).

Added to that, he said, are the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the entry in the list of sites of Teotihuacán and Monte Alban. In addition, the archaeological zones The Tajin and Uxmal celebrated in 2012, their 20 and 16 years, respectively.

In Uxmal, Yucatan, celebrated this event with the exhibition "Uxmal, eight decades of exploration (1920-2012) ", composed of 24 photographs (12 former and 12 current ) that reveal the gradual recovery of the prehispanic site, fruit of the dedication and passion of several archaeologists.

On the other hand, the Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacán in Mexico State, celebrated from December 11 to 14 the 25th anniversary of its inclusion in the List of World Heritage of UNESCO with the placement of 250 anchor plates around its polygon protector.

He also conducted a series of lectures on the work of restoration and preservation that has been made in the City of the Gods, in addition to displaying various images of the sites included in the list within the lobby of the former museum of the site.

In turn, Monte Albán (Oaxaca) also celebrated its first quarter-century in the list of UNESCO, the 10 and 11 of December, with a meeting of directors of prehispanic sites that have the category of World Heritage and the sample "artistic paintings of Monte Albán".

In the area of the crescent of the National Museum of Anthropology, presents the exhibition "Monte Albán yesterday and today" with period photographs and more than 50 archaeological artifacts recovered during the 18 seasons of explorations in this ancient city.

The tajine, in Veracruz, celebrated from 14 to 16 of December, its 20 anniversary of inclusion in this list with various activities involving the surrounding communities through the Council of the Totonac ancestral wisdom to unveil a commemorative plaque.

These celebrations of the Mexican sites also coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Convention of World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO, signed in 1972.

For this reason,  last July  several meetings were made in Queretaro, with specialists from ten countries who called to prioritize conservation actions of the sites that are already registered, because the browser is about to arrive at the "golden number" of thousand properties inscribed

Currently, the list records 936 goods, of which 725 are cultural, 183 natural and 28 mixed (which covers both categories), located in 153 countries, total Mexico has 31 listed sites.
